Boys & Girls Clubs of Manteca/Lathrop enables all young people, especially those most in need, to reach their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Manteca and Lathrop has tested and proven nationally-recognized programs that address today’s most pressing youth issues, teaching young people the skills they need to succeed in life.
Programs are available in the areas of education, the environment, health, the arts, careers, gang prevention, leadership development, and athletics. Each program is aligned with one of the following five core program areas:

California Division of Boating and Waterways (DBW) has partnered with public and private entities to make life jackets available to the public on a loan basis. DBW has provided life jackets to these stations so that an individual or family can check out a life jacket for a day or a weekend by simply completing a loan form. Pixie Woods is a fairyland for kids of all ages to enjoy. Ride the Pixie Express Train down the tracks past Frontier Town. Take an excursion down the lagoon on the Pixie Queen paddle-wheel boat or take an exciting ride on a vintage carousel.

Stribley Community Center provides youth with an array of organized activities like indoor soccer, art contests, teen concerts, arts and crafts, basketball, dances and many others. There is also a Teen Advisory Board, a weight room and the After School Express Program.

Villa Monterey Family Resource Center operates a Family Resource Center with administration offices in one of the highest-need communities in Stockton: the Kentfield neighborhood.
Service Integration is used as a planning process to create individualized plans to meet the needs of children and their families by utilizing their strengths. The comprehensive and well-coordinated case plans improve the delivery of services because they eliminate duplication and gaps in services and actively involve families.

Delta Sculling Center is available for anyone to become more fit, regain/improve health, find a new sport, enjoy the Delta, train for competition, improve their sculling technique, or find an adaptive sport.
Girls ages 9 to 18 years
Delta Valley Volleyball Club teams are age- and ability-specific programs. The team competes in the Northern California Volleyball Association from January to June. Training sessions begin in June. The two purposes are to develop skills in volleyball among girls with ability and interest so that they can be recruited into high school and college-level teams, and to compete regionally and nationally through club teams. Clinics teach youth how to play volleyball and are offered from June to November. Practices and clinics are held at Lodi Academy, 1230 South Central Avenue in Lodi.

The Downtown Stockton Alliance (DSA) promotes business, housing, arts, and entertainment to help create a vibrant, sustainable, urban community in Downtown Stockton. The DSA focuses on five critical areas as determined by the Downtown Management District Plan: Maintenance, Safety, Public Policies, Economic Development, and Marketing.
Siblings of children with special needs
Sibshops are informal meetings of siblings ages 7 to 14 years. Sibshops consist of recreational activities and learning opportunities. They provide siblings with an opportunity to meet other siblings of children with special needs, exchange information, thoughts, ideas and have fun. The meetings are held in FRNs service areas.
Junior Giants program is available to all youth ages 5 to18 years old to participate.

Junior Giants, the flagship program of the Giants Community Fund, is a free, non-competitive coed baseball and softball program for boys and girls ages 5-18 years old. Beyond teaching the fundamentals of the game, Junior Giants focuses on the four bases of character development: confidence, integrity, leadership and teamwork. They also offer programs in health, education, and bullying prevention.

Cub Scout Packs, Boy Scout Troops, Venture Crews, and Explorer Posts are provided by the Boy Scouts of America (BSA), the nation’s foremost youth program of character development and values-based leadership training, which helps young people be “Prepared. Scouting expands horizons and provides young people with a safe and welcoming environment to learn, grow, and thrive. Life skills are acquired and gain experience that will prove to be valuable regardless of where the future takes them, all while having a blast. Leadership, event-planning, organization, communication, responsibility, and the ability to maneuver difficult situations – the list goes on and on.
BSA programs are divided by age and activity: Cub Scouts is for boys and girls in grades K-5, Scouts BSA is open to young men and women in grades 6-12. The Exploring program offers co-ed career oriented training for young adults aged 14 to 20.

Haggin Museum has redesigned their core art galleries. The stunning new spaces, designed by internationally recognized design firm Gallagher & Associates, house the museum’s collection of late 19th to early 20th century American and European fine art which includes works by Albert Bierstadt, William-Adolphe Bouguereau, Pierre-Auguste Renoir and more. A new, permanent space dedicated to 20th-century illustrator J.C. Leyendecker will include a rare, in-depth look into his personal life, and will include over 30 original paintings by the artist.
The museum’s extensive history galleries offer families a chance to travel back in time to learn more about Stockton and California history. Displays focus on area Native Americans, the Gold Rush, agriculture in the San Joaquin Valley, historic firefighting equipment, as well as shipbuilding and other Stockton industries. Visitors will see period rooms from a Victorian-era San Joaquin Valley ranch home, a recreated local flour mill, and a turn-of-the-last-century California town that includes a one-room schoolhouse and a Chinese herb shop. Beautiful American Indian baskets, a Holt Caterpillar tractor, the infamous trunk of Emma LeDoux, and a World War II jeep are among the thousands of historical treasures permanently on display.

Harvest Home Animal Sanctuarys mission is to provide life-long care for rescued animals and to educate the public about humane animal care and practices. The sanctuary helps rehabilitate, both physically and psychologically, mistreated animals and, if possible, will find appropriate homes for them. In an effort to prevent further cruelty to these animals, the public is educated on caring for companion animals as well as on issues concerning farmed animals.
To bolster compassion and kindness for animals, Harvest Home Animal Sanctuary also provides free educational presentations to local youth and community groups on the topics of humane care and animal welfare.

Haute Couture Societe provides workshops to members, at a nominal cost, on various sewing, design and craft techniques. Bus trips to visit museums, designers and special events are offered. This organization also creates hospital gowns for Hospice of San Joaquin and makes chemo turbans for the American Cancer Society. This group meets at Danner Hall, San Joaquin Delta College located on Pacific Avenue in Stockton.

Little League Baseball, Inc. is a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote, develop, supervise and voluntarily assist in all lawful ways, the interest of those who will participate in Little League Baseball.
Through proper guidance and exemplary leadership, the Little League program assists youth in developing the qualities of citizenship, discipline, teamwork and physical well-being. By espousing the virtues of character, courage and loyalty, the Little League Baseball program is designed to develop superior citizens rather than superior athletes.
Challenger Division: provides boys and girls with disabilities the opportunity to experience the emotional development and fun of playing Little League Baseball.

Little Manila Foundation advocates for the historic preservation of the Little Manila Historic Site in Stockton, and provides education and leadership to revitalize the Filipina/o American community.

Lodi Boys & Girls Club provides a safe environment for a broad range of physical, social, recreational and educational programs designed to promote sound personal and social development. It also has self-improvement, creative and informal education programs for children of all ages.
For the Fee Based full-time After School Program (FT ASP), a five-day commitment is required. For the part-time After School Program, one to three days per week is required. Transportation is now being offered.
City of Lodi Parks and Recreation Department offers a wide variety of sports, recreation and activities. Each department publishes a calendar of events and offers a summer program.
Teen activities include flag football, basketball, late night basketball, summer swim league, Lodi Babe Ruth baseball/softball, youth tackle football and cheer, youth competitive soccer and American Legion baseball. Youth volunteer time is utilized, hiring teens as game officials and for other recreation and maintenance positions in the parks. The goal is to prevent juvenile crime by increasing community involvement, self-esteem and job skills.
The After School Playground Program is offered to children in grades TK and K-6, Monday through Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and minimum days from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. TK ASP is offered before the 2:00 p.m. ASP start time at any of the ASP site at Hutchins Street Square. After school staff organizes and facilitates activities throughout the week. ASPs new site is Holz Room at Hutchins Street Square. Fees: $60 registration fee/ $325 per month, per child, but there is $2 per minute charge for late pick ups from ASP site. Transportation is now being offered to our new site at the Square. Punch Pass Parents must commit to having their child attend the ASP program at least 3 days in a row per week for them to receive transportation if they are in the Punch Pass Program. There is also Part Time availability at each site through their Fee Based Punch Pass Program. If the Punch Passes are not 3 days in a row, parents must drop off. LOEL Senior Center addresses the nutritional and social needs of seniors. The Center helps seniors remain healthy and independent through a variety of organized activities such as exercise, crafts, tai-chi, yoga, bunco, mah-jongg, ping pong, Mexican Train dominoes, pickleball, dance, cards, bingo, knitting, and crochet. Manteca Recreation and Community Services Department offers a wide variety of sports, recreation activities, and before and after school programs. For teens, there is a Youth Advisory Commission, Teen Summit, dances, volunteer opportunities, enrichment activities and other teen projects. Mexican Heritage Center and Gallery, Inc.s mission is to educate and promote art and culture for current and future generations. Since the late 1990s, the Mexican Heritage Center and Gallery has been a pioneer in bringing Mexican visual and performing arts to the Stockton community. Native American Indian Education Center, located at Edison High School, trains teachers in the cultural difficulties they encounter with Native American customs. Field trips and educational activities are provided, and there is a multicultural specialist on staff. Lectures are given on Native American affairs. OASIS Archery Science Institute of Stockton, formerly known as the California Central Valley Archery Academy (CCVAA) started as a group of friends and family who came together to bring the noble sport of Olympic Recurve archery to the San Joaquin Central Valley.
OASIS resides on a five-acre facility, which includes multiple ranges, parking, and indoor service facilities. Future plans and developments include a store, multiple indoor facilities for daily use and rental, a sit-down cafe, and an additional five- to ten-acre expansion.
OASIS now has a flourishing Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD) program that continues to develop the sport of archery. OASISs mission is to build and nurture a community of archers that bring together the love and passion for archery, and to make OASIS the ultimate archery hang-out place in northern California. Their vision is to develop sustainable programs that support the demands of both recreational and competitive archery and make archery a fun and an inclusive sport. Weekly JOAD classes are offered as well as a Summer Camp.

Pacific Youth Symphony (previously known as Central Valley Youth Symphony) has provided young people in San Joaquin and surrounding counties with the opportunity to play great symphonic music while making new friends. With expert coaching from the conservatory faculty and students, weekly rehearsals on the beautiful Pacific campus prepare young musicians (ages 10-22) for at least two concerts each academic year.

Lodi Community Service Center provides families with emergency food on Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., serving up to thirty families. To qualify, families must be low-income residents living in San Joaquin County (Lodi, Galt, Thornton, Clements, Victor and Woodbridge). For emergency food, clients must bring the following documentation: photo identification and proof of address, such as a PG&E, telephone bill or rent receipt. Identification is needed for each family member. The Service Center also provides the following programs:

San Joaquin County Historical Museum reveals the rich history of San Joaquin County, including the cultures and heritage of the Miwok and Yokuts Indians, the founding and development of Stockton by Charles Weber, the early twentieth century invention of the tractor and bulldozer (both invented in the county), and the evolution of modern agriculture. The Museum has eight exhibit buildings and four historic buildings, including the 1848 Weber house and the 1866 Calaveras School. Exhibits include room dioramas of Weber family furnishings, a children’s activity area, and large displays of hand tools and historic agricultural equipment. The 18-acre grounds include the Sunshine Trail living exhibition of native habitats and the Delta Water Path. Please visit the website for upcoming activities and exhibitions. Workforce Training Institute/Community Education provides learning and training opportunities in medical health careers, professional development, technology, and enrichment programs. The focus of their program is to help our diverse community build and refine skills needed to enter and succeed in the workforce. Contract Education further promotes workforce development throughout the community by providing specialized education and training services to businesses, government, industry and community agencies.
Registrants are not required to complete a college application nor enroll in credit courses at the College.
Kids College provides unique programs for children and teens in the Delta College district. Kids College workshops are fee-based and designed to teach new and meaningful skills, develop new interests and hobbies, excite students about learning, and provide an opportunity for them to explore possible careers.
Workshops are provided after school, during school breaks, and on Saturdays each year during the Fall, Spring, and Summer terms. Workshops take place on the Delta College campus.

Delta-Sierra Group is a Northern California regional unit of the Sierra Club located in San Joaquin County, that organizes outdoor activities and directs attention on environmental issues. The Sierra Club motto is practiced to "explore, enjoy and protect the planet." Whether someone is a member or not, the Group asks that individuals please practice this motto.
All general meetings are open to everyone whether a Sierra Club member or not. Meetings are held at the Central United Methodist Church, Fireside Room, 3700 Pacific Avenue, Stockton, across from the UOP Burns Tower, at 7:00 p.m.

Silver Lake Campers Association Stockton Family Camp is located at Silver Lake on Highway 88 behind Plasses Resort just a few miles above Bear River Reservoir and below Kirkwood Resort at Carson Pass in Amador County. Founded in 1921, Silver Lake Stockton Family Camp has hosted campers escaping the heat and bustle of the city of Stockton for a fresher, more peaceful setting.
Silver Lake Campers Association Stockton Family Camp is located on land that is leased by the City of Stockton from the United States Forest Service (U.S.F.S.), El Dorado National Forest. Open seasonally, from late spring to late summer, the camp operates under a special use permit. The Camp welcomes all to enjoy the beauty of the High Sierra.
Activities at Silver Lake Camp are all included in the prices shown, with three meals a day and lodging (bring your own bedding).
If
you prefer, you may plan your own outdoor adventure. There are many
hiking trails within a short distance of camp. Campers may swim or
fish at the lake, or simply relax under the trees. Enjoy a walk through
one of the wildflower-filled meadows near the camp, or walk down to the lake to
pay a visit to the wild geese. For those wishing a more strenuous hike and
an all-day adventure, it is recommended to take the longer (8+miles) hikes to either Thunder Mountain
or Needle’s Eye.

Stockton Art League is an enthusiastic group of people who are interested in and enjoy the world of art. The membership includes professional, semi-professional, and amateur artists, and people who just enjoy their programs and exhibitions.
Programs, workshops, classes, and activities are provided that will stimulate growth in individual members and that will encourage the exchange of ideas between members. Mutual cultural exchange are provided and promoted with other organizations that are concerned with the creative arts and with the community at large. The Art League aids in the building of art appreciation in San Joaquin County, providing opportunities for exhibitions of works of arts and crafts for members, both as individuals and as a group.

Stockton Arts Commission serves as the arts advocacy commission for the City. The Commission is a catalyst to support and strengthen community awareness, opportunities, and involvement in arts and culture.
Since 2003, the Stockton Arts Commission has awarded nearly $1,000,000 to support, stimulate, and strengthen the arts in Stockton. These grants help non-profit arts organizations, artists (including student artists), and art educators serve a diverse community.
Today, the Commission operates within the Citys Community Services Department with an arts director and a 15-member volunteer commission appointed by the Mayor and City Council.

Stockton Astronomical Societys Astronomy Club promotes knowledge of astronomy and related sciences. Monthly sky viewing events are held, and Community Star Parties are also available to schools. A 12-page monthly newsletter, “Valley Skies” is also included with a membership.

Stockton Bicycle Club is comprised of cycling enthusiasts from San Joaquin and surrounding counties with a wide range of abilities and interests. The club promotes activities in road riding, mountain biking and touring. Rides are scheduled on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday and holidays throughout the year. During daylight savings time, April through September, Monday and Wednesday night rides are added. Interested individuals do not have to be a member to ride with the club.

The Stockton Chorale provides adult and youth singers from third grade and up to participate in a community choir and provides a wide variety of opportunities to perform.
The Stockton Chorale offers age-appropriate training in choral singing and music theory. The Stockton Singers is our non-auditioned ensemble and performs twice a year with the rest of the Chorale ensembles. This group also serves as our outreach group and perform at various local events and venues through the year. The Stockton Chorale is an auditioned adult ensemble for those singers wanting to perform more often and sing a wider and more complex range of music. The Master Chorale is our auditioned adult ensemble for those advanced singers who are comfortable singing a cappella. Members in this group also sing with the Stockton Chorale.
Students must know how to swim.
Stockton Sailing Club sponsors family-oriented events throughout the year such as racing regattas, one-design and PHRF racing. It supports a junior sailing program and education seminars for novice, intermediate, and advanced sailors of all ages. It holds informal events throughout the year such as Friday night mixers at the clubhouse, dock parties, deep water cruising and the renowned Delta Ditch Run.
Member applications are interviewed, approved by a board of directors and asked to participate in a new member orientation. New members must be sponsored by two existing members and pay a small initial membership fee. A boat is not required and new members will have ample opportunity to learn sailing with existing members.

Stockton Symphony, formed in 1926, is the third oldest continuously performing orchestra in California, surpassed in longevity only by the San Francisco Symphony and the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Stockton Symphony provides the community with a variety of music, entertainment and esteemed guest artists, and is comprised of some of California’s finest professional musicians.
Each year, the Stockton Symphony performs a signature concert, "Steppin Out," which introduces 4th and 5th grade students symphonic music. To afford access to the symphony, the Stockton Symphony has created a Student Discount Ticket Program for students from elementary school to college.
The Symphony offers multiple ticketing options from single tickets to subscriptions to Group Tickets, which allows the flexibility to control the concert experience according to what works for everyones budget and taste.

Stockton Youth Soccer Association’s (SYSA) mission is to foster physical, mental, and emotional growth through the sport of soccer for all children in the City of Stockton. In all decisions, the SYSA focuses on putting the children’s interests first.

The Arc San Joaquin provides Adult Development Programs and Supported Employment. Adult Development Programs serve persons with significant intellectual and developmental disabilities. Services help participants to become more independent through adult life skills and communication skills training. Site and community group activities provide social, leisure and volunteer opportunities. Behavior management services help individuals become aware of and better cope with challenges they may be experiencing.
The Supported Employment program provides job sampling trials, job development, and job coaching. Job coach support is provided in both group and individual placement. Group placement is used to learn a specific set of duties associated with a job and job coaching is provided throughout the day. Job coaching in Individual Placement is for a shorter period of time until the person no longer needs supports. Job sampling trials allow someone to "try out" a job of choice to see how they like it. Job sampling is an important and requested service for anyone wanting to discover his or her interests, abilities and competencies. All jobs are established with local privately owned businesses, corporations and government entities.

The Write Place teaches writing, bookbinding, and letterpress printing on vintage presses. It provides writing and book arts classes for children and adults.
This Center is located within walking distance from many downtown schools. It also offers creative writing and book arts workshops for writers of all ages.
Writing groups and book clubs are able to use the space in the evenings. On weekends, The Write Place hosts author readings and artists who teach paper making, book binding, and paper crafts of many kinds.

Tuleburg Quilt Guild provides quilting-related educational presentations and workshops on various quilting techniques. This is offered to members free or at a nominal cost. Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month at 10:00 a.m. (refreshments at 9:30 a.m.) at the Elks Lodge, 8900 Thornton Road in Stockton, CA

Members are required to pay the $35 annual fee and sell 30 raffle tickets for the annual fundraiser, which is the Opportunity Quilt.

Valley CAPS provides daytime training and activities to meet the special education and recreational needs of developmentally disabled adults. Special education, recreation, day training and behavior management programs are provided.
