A Thrive Therapeutic Services provides mental health therapy in Tracy. Telehealth services are also available throughout the state of California.

Adult Day Services is a licensed program at Hutchins Street Square for older and disabled adults who cannot fully care for themselves. The program provides friendly, stimulating care and support through a variety of daily activities that encourage group participation. Meetings in San Joaquin County are held in Lodi, Manteca, Stockton and Tracy. Adjacent meetings are held in Galt, Modesto, Oakdale, and Valley Springs. Alzheimer’s Aid Society of Northern California provides families with education, support, guidance, and referral services. The Society promotes education to the general public and the professional community and conducts in-services to skilled nursing, residential facilities, and law enforcement. The Society also contributes to research seeking the cause, possible prevention, treatment and cure of Alzheimers disease. The Society works to educate legislators about Alzheimers disease, as well as support California legislation in the areas of increased funding for research, long-term insurance for patients, and respite for caregivers. A 52-page booklet entitled, “A Practical Guide for Alzheimer Caregivers” is made available to all families and caregivers who call. Additionally, scholarships are awarded to college students studying the field of gerontology.

The Society also features support groups whereby individuals receive support and fellowship from others experiencing similar feelings and emotions. The group is designed to provide support as well as information on research, therapy and other topics of interest. Weekly support groups for both the caregiver and the patient are held at Oasis of Stockton, 1119 Rosemarie Lane. Monthly support group meetings for caregivers are held at Somerford Place, 3530 Deer Park Drive in Stockton. There are also groups in Sacramento, Tracy, and Turlock.

Alzheimers Association - Greater Sacramento Offices mission is to eliminate Alzheimers through the advancement of research, to provide enhanced care and support to all affected, and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.

The office serves eight counties in the Greater Sacramento area, including San Joaquin. Over 60,000 people in the region have Alzheimer’s disease or another form of dementia and over 180,000 caregivers provide support.

The free local programs and services include a 24-hour per day, 7 days per week helpline, care consultations for families, and over 20 support groups. Caregiver education forums and community education classes related to dementia and brain health are also offered.

American Cancer Society provides support to cancer patients and their families at no direct cost to patients or the people who care for them. This includes transportation to medical appointments, transportation reimbursement, lodging, support groups and wigs.

American Lung Association in California works to prevent lung disease and promote lung health through education, community service, advocacy and research. Lung disease, including asthma, emphysema and lung cancer, is the third leading cause of death in America.

Programs include both part-day and full-day options for families based on their needs, family size, and income. Priority is given to families with children at risk of abuse, neglect, exploitation, or who are homeless.

• Infant & Toddler Care: Provided at four licensed facilities located throughout San Joaquin County, serving children 0 to 2 years old. The curriculum focuses on healthy attachment development through intentional and responsive care and is designed to focus on routines and experiences – allowing the unique demands of each individual child to be successfully met.

• Home-Based Child Development Programs: This program offers in-home education services to 51 families with children between the ages of 0 to 3 and uses the Parents as Teachers (PAT) curriculum to support parents in becoming their child’s first teacher through weekly home visits that promote learning and healthy attachment, as well as a variety of planned group socializations.

• Behavior Modification Services: Child Development Consultants provide behavioral support services to at-risk children ages 0 to 5 years old and their families, resulting in improved behaviors, parenting techniques and decreased need for intervention. These staff also offer Kindermusik classes for parents and children to enjoy together, focusing on healthy attachment and brain development through shared music experiences.

• Crisis/Respite Care: No-cost crisis care and respite care for children birth through 12 years old. Respite Care program is the only one of its kind in San Joaquin County and funding for these services is very limited. This program provides quality care for children of families (regardless of income) who are not eligible for subsidized childcare, but are either required to participate in a treatment, care plan, or parent education class or are facing an immediate short-term emergency and have no other resource to turn to for childcare. CAPC also has a dedicated childcare space at the Family Justice Center and services are also provided at the San Joaquin County Courthouse for families engaging in official court business or accessing the self-help center.

Cocaine Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve common problem and help others to recover from addiction.

The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop using cocaine and all mind-altering substances.

Concrete Development Inc. (CDI) serves our Stockton community and its systems impacted youth, offering leadership development and training to individuals within marginalized communities who have been system and/or justice impacted by violence, gun violence, and substance use disorders. CDI helps provide a clear pathway for personal and community change, creating a pathway for participants that not only disrupts how they view their local ecosystems and structures of violence, but also creates agency and self-actualization for participants to change their own lives and the greater community as a whole.

Sibshops are informal meetings of siblings ages 7 to 14 years. Sibshops consist of recreational activities and learning opportunities. They provide siblings with an opportunity to meet other siblings of children with special needs, exchange information, thoughts, ideas and have fun. The meetings are held in FRNs service areas.

Gamblers Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other to solve common problem and help others to recover from a gambling problem.

The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop gambling. There are no dues or fees for Gamblers Anonymous membership; Gamblers Anonymous is self-supporting through their own contributions. Hearts of Harvest is for families with children who have congenital heart defects. Emotional support and resources are offered.

Hospice of San Joaquin believes that everyone deserves a comfortable and peaceful closure. The professional team offers a comprehensive care plan which includes professional medical, social, spiritual and emotional care (support) for the patient, family and caregivers. Each patients individualized plan of care is designed to fit specific needs and choices. Visits are as patient and family require or request by the appropriate hospice team member. A 24-hour on-call hospice nurse are available.

Respite care, support and practical help are offered. Counseling, spiritual support and grief support are also included. Some workshops have a one-time materials fee.

Hospice of San Joaquin offers services regardless of age, including pediatric hospice care. The agencys effective pain control and symptom management are tailored to the individuals changing conditions. Practical day-to-day support and guidance is given to family and caregivers as they adapt to changes in the health of their loves ones.

• Hospice House, a comfortable "Home" when you need it most - is the first and only residential campus for hospice patients in San Joaquin County. This comfortable house offers an alternative to home based-hospice care when patients are no longer able to remain in their own home.
• Transitions Program is a community service program designed to provide palliative education, emotional support and community resource information to participants with life-limiting or advancing chronic life-limiting illnesses.
• The Bereavement Program supports grieving families and friends, including bereavement support groups for both adults and children. Lodi Parkinsons Disease Support Group is designed for individuals diagnosed with Parkinsons disease; as well as their families and caregivers. Mended Hearts, Inc. Stockton Chapter #40 is a support group for individuals who have had open-heart surgery, as well as support for their families as well. Meetings are designed to provide moral support for patients and their families.

All patients meet with a counselor prior to open-heart surgery to discuss concerns or issues associated with the procedure. Meetings are held on the first Thursday of the month, excluding July, August and December, in Classroom 2 on the lower level of St. Josephs Medical Center at 7:00 p.m. Individuals with heart disease concerns are welcome.

Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) is a victim advocate group in opposition to drunk driving. Support groups are offered, as well as counseling and referral services. MADDs goal is to educate and promote safe communities without drunk driving.

Speakers are available to groups, and an informational booth can be set up at community events. MADD conducts a red ribbon awareness program in December and collaborates with the California Highway Patrol for high school "Safe & Sober Graduation" programs.

MADDs mission is to end drunk driving, help fight drugged driving, support the victims of these violent crimes and prevent underage drinking. MADD is available to support people involved in the court system as needed. There are opportunities for supervised internships and volunteer work.

Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS) International, Inc. exists to meet the needs of every urban, suburban, rural, stay-at-home and working, teen, single and married mom, and moms with different lifestyles who all share a similar desire to be the very best moms they can be. MOPS recognizes that the years from infancy through kindergarten are foundational in a mother-child relationship and are filled with unique needs.

MOPS helps moms through relationships established in the context of local groups that provide a caring atmosphere for todays mothers of young children. MOPS also encourages and supports moms through resources such as books, website, and the MOPS International Membership.

Narcotics Anonymous (NA) is a nonprofit fellowship/society of men and women for whom drugs had become a major problem, of recovering addicts who meet regularly to help each other stay clean. This is a program of complete abstinence from all drugs.

NA includes a set of simple principles that makes it easy to follow in daily life. There are no initiation fees or dues. Anyone may join regardless of age, race, sexual identity, creed, religion, or lack of religion.

National Alliance on Mental Illness of San Joaquin County (NAMI SJC) provides personal and mutual support for families and individuals living with a mental illness, including information and referral services. It assists families and individuals with coping and survival skills.

NAMI currently offers:

• The Family-to-Family class is an eight-week course for families and friends of someone living with mental illness. The course covers mental illness, medication, coping skills, and family emotional support. This course is also available in Spanish. At this time, it is being offered virtually. • Peer-to-Peer class is an eight-week education course for consumers of mental health in the community. In addition, IOOV “In Our Own Voice” presentations are available for any group wishing to hear from two individuals who are in recovery from mental illness. This course is also available in Spanish.
• The NAMI Provider Education Program offers 12-1/2 hours of in-service training, taught by a trained five-member team of family members, individuals living with mental illness, and a mental health professional.
• The NAMI Basics is a six-week, peer-directed education program developed specifically for parents and other family caregivers of children and adolescents who have been diagnosed with a serious mental illness/serious emotional disturbance or who are experiencing symptoms but have not yet been diagnosed.
• The NAMI Connection Recovery Support Groups meet for 90 minutes and is open to all adults with mental health challenges, with or without a diagnosis. NorCal Services for Deaf and Hard of Hearing-Stockton/Modesto provides services to deaf, hard of hearing, deaf-blind, late deafened and developmentally disabled deaf/hard of hearing individuals who are without access to community services due to linguistic and cultural barriers. This program also serves individuals with a history or tendency of abuse and emotional crisis centered around the family. All services are provided in the communication mode preferred by the client including sign language, lip reading, and live-time captioning.

Bristol Hospice-Stockton works together with patients and their families to enhance quality of life. Hospice services are available for those typically affected by any type of life-limiting condition. By utilizing the most modern pain and symptom management techniques combined with a compassionate support system, hospice services help to reduce the overwhelming stress and anxiety that can come with caring for a loved one with a life-limiting illness at home or in a residency facility.

Hospice Care Team: When the focus of medical care changes from cure to comfort, the Hospice Care team provides physical, emotional, practical, and spiritual support for the entire family. Hospice provides home visits by nursing staff, medical social services, therapy services, physician services, hospice aide, and volunteer services.

Bereavement/Spiritual Counseling: Hospice also includes individual or group counseling. The professional team can provide individual counseling as well as offer regularly scheduled community groups. Hospice has developed the "Kids Grief Connection" for children experiencing the loss of a friend or a loved one, including a family member. All services are provided to the community free of charge.

Overeaters Anonymous offers a program of recovery from compulsive eating using the 12-step and 12-traditions models. Anyone with compulsive eating behaviors (anorexia, bulimia or compulsive overeaters) is welcome.

Parents United of Stanislaus County is a program dedicated to the assistance of parents, children and victims affected by child sexual abuse and other related problems. Group counseling led by trained clinicians is provided.

The Wellness Centers of San Joaquin County have locations in Stockton, Manteca and Lodi. All three wellness centers are non-clinical peer-run centers for mental health consumers and/or those seeking substance use recovery. The mission is to assist consumers in recovery, while reducing stigma related to mental health conditions and substance use challenges. Peer counseling, peer-run support groups & classes are offered to teach coping skills, life skills, self care, and peer-advocacy tools. All staff are trained as peer recovery coaches to support peers. Peer Recovery Services believes in transformation and recovery; each center is a welcoming place to discover, recover and grow! The Wellness Centers of San Joaquin County are a Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) Program funded through San Joaquin County Behavioral Health Services.

Postpartum Support International (PSI) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote awareness, prevention and treatment of mental health issues related to childbearing in every country worldwide.

It is the vision of PSI that every woman and family worldwide will have access to information, social support, and informed professional care to deal with mental health issues related to childbearing. The PSI promotes this vision through advocacy and collaboration, and by educating and training the professional community and the public.

PREVAIL (formerly Womens Center - Youth & Family Services) has been San Joaquin Countys primary provider of free, confidential services and shelters specifically designed to meet the needs of homeless and runaway youth and victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. Through these programs and services, victims can heal, restore hope, strengthen families, and build a safer community.

Shelter Programs (Crisis Specialists are available 24/7 to complete an assessment over the phone to determine if an individual is eligible for these programs):

• DAWN House, located in Stockton, and Serenity House, located in Tracy, are two undisclosed emergency shelters designed for individuals and families who are fleeing domestic violence, sexual violence, or human trafficking.
• Safe House, located in Stockton, offers up to 21 days of shelter and supportive services for youth running away at risk of/or experiencing homelessness (aged 12 to 17).
• Opportunity House, located in Stockton, provides up to 21 months of shelter and supportive services to prepare youth or young adults experiencing housing instability for independent living. The program serves youth aged 18 to 22 and emancipated youth from 16 to 17 years old. The program also offers emergency 30 day stay for youth ages 18 to 25 years old.

Quail Lakes Baptist Church Celebrate Recovery is a program that helps people overcome their hurts, habits and personal challenges. The focus is on growing spiritually and emotionally, while they offer a safe place to be honest and heal.

Quail Lakes Baptist Church DivorceCare is for those who have filed or have gone through a divorce. Lay counseling is available year-round.

Quail Lakes Baptist Church GriefShare is a 13-week support group, aimed at learning how to process the changes that accompany the loss of a loved one. Featuring a combination of videos, workbook, and group support, it is an opportunity to share your journey from mourning to joy with people who care.

Right to Protect offers the following programs and classes to the community:

• Victim/Survivor Advocacy: advocacy services at all levels including accompanying clients to court dates.
• Parenting classes (virtual/online)
• Anger Management classes (virtual/online)
• Safe at Home: enrollment is conducted online and via phone. All eligible California residents are encouraged to apply.
• CBT Counseling

The Family Justice Center provides comprehensive and coordinated support to individuals and families affected by abuse, helping them to feel safe and supported as they navigate the process of seeking help and rebuilding their lives. Assistance, information, and resources are available to survivors. Monthly events include:

• "VOICES Chat" in-person support group for victims of domestic violence, human trafficking, and sexual assault
• Art therapy classes for children
• "Cooking Up HOPE" cooking classes

All classes are free of charge and include supplies. Registration for classes is required and is available from the website.

Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) program provides grief and bereavement services to families and/or child care providers who have experienced the death of an infant due to SIDS or any Sudden Unexpected Infant Death (SUID). A Public Health Nurse will make contact with the family within three working days after notification from the coroner about the death, and provide supportive services, information, and referrals to community resources.

Community and provider education about SIDS are offered anytime.

Celebrate Recovery is a faith-based group that utilizes the "8 recovery principles” and the 12-step program to address addictive, compulsive, dysfunctional behaviors.

A large group meets for teaching/personal testimonies followed by separate, small groups for men and women-specific issues such as substance abuse and anger, sex/porn, co-dependency, eating disorders, and childhood issues. Sponsorships/ accountability partners are available to assist with the recovery process.

Sisters in the Brotherhood Support Group offers support, guidance and information to those in the carpentry field or those interested in pursuing a career in carpentry. The group meets at the Carpenters Local 152, 1421 Moffat Boulevard in Manteca, in the evening. Please call for meeting information. The support group is geared for female carpenters and all other trades for both women or men. Everyone is welcome.

Girl Circle is an 8-week mentoring and interactive free program for girls ages 9 to 13 years old. Register today to learn more about topics ranging from self-confidence to healthy relationships. In-person sessions will be held at Sow A Seed Community Foundation after school.

St. Joseph’s Cancer Institute Support Group assists individuals in developing coping mechanisms. The group helps people create and use strategies on living with cancer. Discussion topics vary and include family relationships, stress, anxiety and other clinical and supportive information. The Compassionate Friends is a national self-help bereavement organization that provides emotional support during the natural grieving process after the death of a child at any age from any cause. The Compassionate Friends (TCF) is a national nonprofit, self-help support organization offering friendship, understanding, and hope to families grieving the death of a child of any age, from any cause. There is no religious affiliation and no individual membership fees or dues are charged. All bereaved family members are welcome.
