Alzheimer’s Aid Society of Northern California provides families with education, support, guidance, and referral services. In addition, the organization promotes education to both the general public and the professional community, offering in‑service trainings to skilled nursing facilities, residential care centers, and law enforcement agencies. It further supports research aimed at identifying the cause, potential prevention methods, treatment options, and ultimately a cure for Alzheimer’s disease. The Society also engages with legislators to raise awareness about the disease and advocates for California policies that expand research funding, improve long‑term care insurance, and provide respite resources for caregivers. A 52‑page booklet titled “A Practical Guide for Alzheimer Caregivers” is available to all families and caregivers who inquire. The organization also offers scholarships to college students pursuing studies in gerontology.

The Society also features support groups whereby individuals receive support and fellowship from others experiencing similar feelings and emotions. The group is designed to provide support as well as information on research, therapy and other topics of interest. Weekly support groups for both the caregiver and the patient are held at Oasis of Stockton, 1119 Rosemarie Lane. Monthly support group meetings for caregivers are held at Somerford Place, 3530 Deer Park Drive in Stockton. There are also groups in Sacramento, Tracy, and Turlock.

Monday through Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Please call to inquire about meeting days and times.
