Homeless children K-6 grade, whose family lives in a shelter within San Joaquin County and are without permanent housing or are in transition.


one.Transitional Learning Center (TLC) is a credentialed kindergarten through sixth grade school for homeless children. Its goal is to satisfy the physical, emotional and educational needs of homeless children in San Joaquin County. Utilizing a strong academic program, a school day includes standards based education, with a strong emphasis on literacy, math and second language acquisition. one.TLC provides children with breakfast, lunch, school supplies, clothing, personal toiletries, medical and dental care.

Counselors, interns and a psychologist are available to assist children through traumas associated with neglect, abandonment, physical, emotional, and sexual abuse as well as homelessness, hunger, physical and educational issues. They also provide psycho-educational assessments and follow up services, as well as serving as a resource center for all homeless youth in San Joaquin County.

one.TLC School is a collaboration of San Joaquin County Office of Education, Stockton Unified School District, one.TLC School for the Homeless Children Foundation and California State University, Stanislaus.

Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
