Connections

The San Joaquin Delta College CalWORKs Program is dedicated to supporting students in achieving success in their education, careers, and personal lives. By connecting them to on-campus resources and local community organizations, we strive to make a meaningful impact.

In 2002, the CalWORKs Program recognized a need for a comprehensive directory of resources in San Joaquin County. Armed with just a handful of community agency names and phone numbers, we set out to gather information on non-profit organizations, services, and programs across the county. This effort gave birth to the Community Connections Resource Directory, which has since grown to include over 730 programs, and is updated annually—a labor of love, driven by our commitment to the success of our students and the community.

In the last decade, the San Joaquin County Local Child Care Planning Council and the San Joaquin County Children’s Services Coordinating Commission have joined us in this mission, helping to expand and sponsor the Directory’s growth. With their partnership, we’ve been able to broaden the Directory's reach and make it more accessible to the community at large.

Our vision has always been to ensure that the Directory is available to everyone in San Joaquin County—because we understand the enormous need for this resource and the positive impact it has on those who use it. We’re excited about the future of Community Connections and the next phase of its growth.
