California Children’s Services (CCS)

All four of the following must be met to be eligible:

  • Age - child/young adult must be under 21 years of age
  • Residence - child must be a resident of San Joaquin County
  • Income - family income must be less than $40,000 per year, according to the adjusted gross income on California income taxes. A child may be eligible when the family income is more that $40,000 if medical care for the childs CCS medical condition is expected to cost the family more than 20% of the familys yearly income.
    • There is no financial eligibility requirement for CCS diagnostic services or the CCS Medical Therapy Program.
  • Medical Conditions - Only certain medical conditions are eligible for CCS

Some fees for CCS clients who do not have Medi-Cal or who have Medi-Cal share of cost. The amount of the fees are based on family income and size.

California Children’s Services (CCS) is a statewide program that arranges, directs, and pays for medical care, equipment and rehabilitation when these services are authorized by the program. CCS pays for treatment, such as doctor services, hospital and surgical care, physical and/or occupational therapy, laboratory tests, X-rays, orthopedic appliances, and medical equipment as needed for the childs CCS-eligible condition.
