Garden Acres Community Center participates in the government commodity program for individuals meeting income and residence requirements. Food is distributed on the third Thursday of the month at 8:00 a.m. to qualifying individuals living in the 95212, 95215 and 95236 zip codes. Emergency food is distributed on Tuesdays with registration from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and pick-up from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Donated food is distributed on most Mondays, some Wednesdays, and Fridays at 11:00 a.m.

Other services:
  • Assistance with homeowners and renters assistance claims for disabled, low-income and elderly individuals. Please call ahead of time.
  • Emergency assistance with PG&E bill (H.E.A.P). Applications only. Please call (209) 468-3988 for more information.
  • Eligibility worker is available on Monday to assist with applying for Food Stamps and Medi-Cal benefits. Please call to schedule an appointment.
  • Senior Congregate Meals Monday, Wednesday and Friday for seniors 60 and up. Please call to inquire about registration ahead of time.
  • After School Snacks are given out Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for any school aged children.
