Harvest Home Animal Sanctuary

(209) 244-7174

The mission of Harvest Home Animal Sanctuary is to provide life-long care for rescued animals, and to educate the public about humane animal care and practices. They rehabilitate, both physically and psychologically, mistreated animals and, if possible, will find appropriate homes for them. In an effort to prevent further cruelty to these animals, they educate the public on caring for companion animals as well as on issues concerning farmed animals.

To bolster compassion and kindness for animals, Harvest Home Animal Sanctuary provides free educational presentations to local youth and community groups on the topics of humane care and animal welfare.

They are happy to:

  • Host Scout troops for service days and tailor projects for your badge-earning needs
  • Come into your classroom with custom-tailored lessons. They are especially interested in replacing common “chick-hatching” projects, which often end in homeless chickens, and they have a lifecycle lesson ready for you classroom. They are happy to develop lessons for other classroom needs and interests, as well
  • Fulfill school requirements for community service. Please contact them to set up a project that suits your interests and their needs.

They are delighted to offer tours of the sanctuary on selected dates throughout the year. Nestled in vineyards in California’s San Joaquin Valley, their two-acre sanctuary is home to formerly abused, abandoned, and neglected farm animals. Visiting the sanctuary is a relaxing, personal way to learn more about their amazing stories of animal rescue and rehabilitation.

By appointment or during monthly public events.
