Lawyer Referral Service of the San Joaquin County Bar Association offers the public referrals to experienced attorneys who are interested in handling their particular type of legal problem. Staff work from a rotating list of attorneys who specialize in certain aspects of law and refer accordingly. The initial referral fee is $30 (except for personal injury, medical malpractice, SSI, Workers Compensation, wrongful termination, and workplace discrimination, which are arranged at no cost) for a 1/2 hour consultation with an attorney. After the initial consultation, the client and the attorney arrange the fee if they choose to retain the attorney to perform the services needed.
Note: The San Joaquin County Bar Association offers free legal clinics to the public once a month (there are no legal clinics in December). Legal Clinics are held on the 3rd Wednesday of each month (except December) in Stockton, Lodi and Tracy. Call for dates and hours.
