This workshop for parents whose children are exiting the Early Start Program will focus on:

  • Transition timelines
  • Overview of relevant Special Education Laws
  • Rights of parents and their children with disabilities or learning differences
  • The Individualized Education Program (IEP) meeting process
  • Local resources

Each participant will receive a free copy of "Building Bridges: Transitioning from Early Start into the Preschool Years - A Planning Workbook for Families". Each parent will receive a free copy of the Special Education Rights and Responsibility book (limit one per family).

This workshop is free to all parents/primary caregivers of children in the Early Start Program who are being served in Amador, Calaveras, San Joaquin, Stanislaus, or Tuolumne Counties, and professionals working with those children.
